Calculator privacy.
TakeHomeComp is operated by Leaf Up Ltd, company number 16675250. The calculator performs its calculations in your browser. Salary and deduction inputs are not submitted to our server or placed in a share URL. The main UK and Portugal calculators keep inputs in session storage in your current browser tab so switching language or refreshing preserves your scenario. Closing the tab ends that session; use Reset to restore the example values. If storage is blocked, same-tab navigation uses an in-memory fallback.
Language preferences
When you select a language, we remember that preference in local storage on your device. On the generic UK landing page we may suggest Portuguese based on that preference or your browser language. We do not infer tax residence from language, and explicit language links always select the version you requested. Clear site data in your browser to remove the saved preference.
No account required
There is no account registration or salary upload. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits, popular pages, referrers and broad device or location information. It does not use third-party cookies and does not receive the salary or deduction figures entered into the calculator.
Website requests
Loading the website sends technical request information such as your IP address and browser details to Vercel, our hosting provider. Vercel creates a temporary identifier from request information for analytics and discards the visitor session after 24 hours. Hosting security and operational logs are separate from calculator inputs.
Advertising
Advertising is currently paused. We do not load the Google AdSense advertising script or display ads. Our publisher verification metadata and ads.txt file remain in place; neither loads advertising code or sets advertising cookies. If we introduce advertising later, we will update this notice and provide the applicable consent controls before enabling it.
Scenario comparison
Comparison figures and scenario names remain in memory in the current page. The Compare this scenario button transfers figures within the app without putting them in a URL or browser storage. Refreshing closes the comparison session and resets its figures.
